Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) provides funding through selected intermediaries who propose an actionable strategy and a clear detailed plan for scaling-up and enhancing innovation capability of IDE candidates, including strategic plan, product innovation, process innovation, market innovation, and organization innovation. Intermediaries connect IDE candidates to proper Innovation Business Development Services (IBDS), key stakeholder, and other funding opportunities. This model will establish professional innovation and business intermediaries in Thailand, as well as improve the quality, raise the potential, and increase the number of IDEs.


Intermediary
A juristic person registered in Thailand, including a government, private organization, or nonprofit organization, serves as an “intermediary” to lead, guide, coach, facilitate, coordinate, foster, and monitor IDE candidates. Moreover, intermediary provide specialized experts (IBDS) and suggest various funding sources for the candidates to be a more inclusive global economy.
IDE Candidate
A private company, with revenue ranging from greater than 100 million baht and less than 1000 million baht, can present the company’s business case proposal, along with an innovation research and development plan. The company must be a registered legal entity based in Thailand, with the owner being Thai or with Thai partners constituting at least 80 percent of the ownership.
Innovation Business Development Service (IBDS)
IBDS refers to an organization or business unit specializing in innovation development. IBDS provides advanced expertise and experience, instances of IBDS services include R&D, regulation, and market.
